Statement from the Homeless Trust regarding U.S. HUD's FY 2015 Continuum of Care appeal determination

The Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust learned today that its appeal of programs not renewed in U.S. HUD’s FY 2015 Continuum of Care (CoC) Program Competition was unsuccessful. While the Homeless Trust, on behalf of the CoC, outlined a number of application scoring concerns and detailed the impacts of the loss of funding to the community, U.S. HUD did not find evidence that it erred in its scoring process.

"We are disappointed by the outcome of our appeal, but have a great deal of respect for U.S. HUD, our partner for more than 20 years," said Ronald L. Book, Chairman of the Homeless Trust. "The Trust is now focused on the FY2016 CoC Competition, and will continue to emphasize the retention and creation of permanent housing to end homelessness in Miami-Dade County."
